Casey Affleck, winner of one tiny gold man, is no longer in possession of a scraggly, mangy beard. A scraggly, mangy mustache stands at attention on his face instead, per paparazzi photos taken of Affleck and girlfriend Floriana Lima as they arrived at LAX for a flight on Thursday.
The mustache, much like the beard, is likely for a role. “I’m working right now, is why I have this beard,” Affleck told Vanity Fair executive editor Krista Smith on the Oscars red carpet in February. “I know it’s not a great look. But I’m stuck with it for a few weeks.” He knows.
The beard could have been for Light of My Life, a film about a man stuck in the woods with his daughter. It could have been for Old Man and the Gun, a film about a man stuck with another man in one more bank heist. It could have been for Lewis and Clark, a mini-series about a man stuck with another man as they survey the New World. Honestly, the mustache would probably work for all of these roles, too, but it’s likely for the mini-series.
At this rate, Affleck’s upper lip won’t get any sun until 2020.
