Carrie Underwood’s Trainer Makes Her Do the Most Intense Thing While She's Working Out

From Country Living

  • Carrie Underwood's trainer, Erin Oprea, shared one of her go-to tricks for getting singers ready for the stage.

  • It sounds rough, but makes a lot of sense.

Carrie Underwood is always serving up wellness inspiration. She’s literally writing the book on fitness and health—but she didn’t learn how to get those amazing legs all on her own.

Like many celebs, Carrie works with trainers like Erin Oprea, whose job it is to whip singers into stage-ready shape. In addition to Carrie, Erin works with Maren Morris, Ryan Hurd, Kelsea Ballerini, and more, so you know she’s got some good tricks up her sleeves.

There’s one in particular that we can’t stop thinking about. It sounds absolutely torturous, but makes a lot of sense: Erin often asks her musically gifted clients to sing while doing cardio.

“The No. 1 thing I have to get them ready for is to be able to sing on stage and dance and move around,” Erin told Insider. “I tell them to run and sing, jump rope and sing. They look at me funny, but when you’re on the stage dancing around, it really helps you be prepared for that and not get winded.”

As if jogging wasn’t bad enough. But that explains how Carrie can put on steamy performances like she did at the CMA Awards and still sound flawless.

Though Carrie always looks great, she’s often been candid about her body, especially since giving birth to her second son. Now she’s gearing up to release Find Your Path, so she can share her own tips to a “positive lifestyle.”

“Fitness and healthy living have been a passion of mine for years,” she said. “This philosophy is a year-round common-sense approach to health and fitness.”

Okay fine, but then Carrie can’t laugh when she hears us belting out her songs on the treadmill!
