Carrie Underwood announced the arrival of her first Christmas album.
My Gift will be available on September 25.
Fans are already excited about the news on social media.
If you celebrate Christmas in July, Carrie Underwood has the perfect gift. On July 20, she announced the impending arrival of her first holiday album, My Gift.
“I realize we’re in the middle of a summer heatwave, but I couldn’t wait to tell you,” she wrote on Instagram and Twitter. “At long last, my very first Christmas album #MyGift is coming September 25! So much love has gone into this and I cannot wait to share it with you! ❤️🎁”
The announcement came with the debut of the album trailer, which shows clips of Underwood recording in the studio and explaining the sentiment behind the upcoming release. “This year, it was just kind of on my heart to do this Christmas album. I just felt like this was such a fitting time,” she said. The record went into production almost immediately after her Cry Pretty tour ended in October 2019.
“I knew this would be my next music project after wrapping my tour last year, and I think it’s turned out to be the perfect time for an album like this, in this period of such personal and spiritual reflection,” she said in a statement. “For me, it’s more important than ever to focus on the true meaning of Christmas in a project like this. Even though it has been a tough year for all of us, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can be inspired by the most difficult times, and make us more grateful for the things we do have and for what truly matters.”
Despite Christmas being five months away, fans are incredibly excited to jam to the festive tracks. (Per the statement, the tracklist and featured artists will be announced in the coming weeks.)
“I know what my folks are getting me for Xmas,” one person tweeted. “I’m so excited!!” another added. “Thank you @carrieunderwood for giving me a much needed smile today!” Another wrote: “I’ve been waiting for this!! Can’t wait to belt out each song with you in my car!”
“YAYYYYYYYYY🎄🎅🏻 Merry Christmas in July!!!!” one fan wrote on Instagram. “I am so incredibly excited for this album!! I know it is going to be simply amazing!! LOVE that you are doing this!!” another chimed in.

Thankfully, the album comes out in September, so there will be plenty of time to memorize the new songs (if there are any) before Christmas.
