Carrie Underwood Fans Are Extremely Emotional Over Her Latest Project

Carrie Underwood has stepped into a new role.
We all know and love the “Before He Cheats” singer for her stellar stage performances and magical Christmas music, and now we have one more thing to add to the list: a collaborator with Dan + Shay for the Dear Evan Hansen original motion picture soundtrack.
On Friday, September 3, Carrie took to YouTube to share a behind-the-scenes look of the trio putting a track called "Only Us" together in the studio. “Can we do one fun thing just cuz?” she asks to kick off the video. “Can we sing top to bottom, just the two of us in here? Let’s see what happens.”
The video then breaks out into what fans are dubbing a “heavenly experience,” as Carrie kicks off the track, with Shay coming in around the 1:41 mark. “So grateful to be a part of this special song with you Carrie! Let's do more together,” Dan + Shay's YouTube channel commented on the video.
"Carrie's heavenly soothing voice is perfectly blended with Dan & Shay's vocals. I really love this," one fan swooned. “Dan and shay [and] Carrie. Wow. What a collaboration. Seamless effortless emotional moving. Thank you for this,” someone else wrote. “Her high register is ethereal,” another fan commented, praising Carrie’s voice control.
The Dear Evan Hansen movie will be released on September 24, 2021. It will be based on the award-winning play of the same name, which follows a high school senior, who suffers from social anxiety disorder, on his journey to self-discovery. Ben Platt, who starred in the play, will also be the lead in the film.
