Carrie Underwood Captured In First Photo Since Severely Injuring Her Face in an Accident

On Sunday, Carrie Underwood shared a heartbreaking update with fans about the face injuries she sustained in her horrible fall last November. The singer explained she "might look a bit different" after needing 40-50 stitches in her face.

But, good news: In this snapshot (and Underwood's first publicized sighting since the accident) shared by Adrienne Gang of Bravo's Below Deck on December 12, the celebrity appears to be healing fast. Even face-to-face, Gang told followers Underwood "looked amazing"-she didn't notice the wounds.

"Just worked out next to @carrieunderwood NBD… she is adorable and so gracious… LOVE HER!" Gang tweeted.

The one injury that is visible? Underwood's broken wrist, which is bandaged in the picture. As a few people pointed out, perhaps the injury was to the far left side of her face, or in the shadowy area next to her nose. Either way, stitches can heal quickly, and it's possible that the star is simply self-conscious about subtle swelling or cuts. Still, she's expressed gratitude that the ordeal wasn't more serious.

"I honestly don't know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful," Peoplereports Underwood wrote in a letter to fan club members. "I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way."

We're so glad the country singer is on the mend!
