Caroline Kennedy is now a grandmother! Her daughter, Tatiana Schlossberg, welcomed a son with husband George Moran earlier this year.

Tatiana, an environmental journalist, and George, a doctor, met at Yale University and married in 2017 at Jackie Kennedy's Martha Vineyard estate. Edwin Garrett Moran is their first child, named for Tatiana's father, Edwin Schlossberg, and George's father, Garrett Moran.

The couple currently live in New York City, where George is a fourth-year urology resident at Columbia University. While Page Six previously reported on the news, the family had not confirmed publicly until this morning, when Tatiana's brother Jack Schlossberg revealed on the Today show that he had a new nephew. Jack said he "handed in his last paper on the day [Edwin] was born." He graduated with a dual degree from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School in February 2022, which means Edwin has been a well-kept secret for a few months now.

Jack told Savannah Guthrie he visits his nephew as often as he can, saying "I can’t get away from him. I love him."

Unlike her brother who has indicated and interest in politics, Tatiana has said previously she is not following in her mother and grandfather's footsteps into the business. She told Vogue in 2019, "Journalism is what I think I'm good at. It's important for people to contribute in the ways they can. I don't think I have the patience to be an environmental lawyer. I think that's truly a thankless job. Politics can be a noble profession, and it has been in the past. I respect all the people who go into politics and make change and do what is right. I don't think that's my particular way of contributing."

She continued, "I do come from a family of politicians, but I also come from a family of writers: my mom and my dad are writers. My grandmother [Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis] was a journalist. She had a column, the Inquiring Camera Girl, for a Washington paper. And I know my grandfather [President John F. Kennedy] had thought about being a reporter, or of owning a paper. He also was a writer and won the Pulitzer Prize."

While this is the first grandchild for Caroline Kennedy, "Grandma" is not her only new job on the horizon; in December 2021, she was nominated by President Joe Biden to be the next U.S. ambassador to Australia, a nomination that is currently pending Senate confirmation.
