It's been almost a year since Netflix released Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, and we're still not over how brilliantly bonkers it is. Thanks to the documentary's incredible overnight success, there's a season 2 in the works - but one key star will be notably missing.

This week, Carole Baskin AKA Joe Exotic's arch rival revealed she won't be taking part in the follow-up series. Speaking to the Radio Times, Carole revealed the Tiger King directors, Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin, asked her to be a part of it but she declined.

"When [Rebecca] said she wanted to clear the air, I felt like, you know, that's just absolutely ridiculous," Carole explained. "It was so obvious that I had been betrayed by them. Why would she ever think that I would be willing to speak to them again? And so I told her to just lose my number."

She said "so many things were taken out of context", including the story surrounding her ex-husband's disappearance, and added that she didn't realise so much of the focus would be on Joe.

"I've only ever seen him twice before the trial – the murder for hire trail – and those two times were both in conjunction with our lawsuit that we had against him because he was using our name," Carole went on.

However, while she won't be appearing in Tiger King season 2, Variety previously reported she had landed her own spin-off along with husband Howard Baskin. The pair will be "exposing those who engage in animal cruelty" in the new TV project.
