Cardi B demonstrated a trendy way to style her own Reebok sneakers — or as the rapper called them last night, “Cardiboks.”

The “I Like It” musician posed alongside an eye-catching sports car in an equally bold ensemble that layered a navy mesh-paneled corset top with coordinating cargo pants. Cargo pants are experiencing a moment on the fashion scene amidst revitalizations of 1990s-style trends such as combat boots, square-toe sandals and low-rise bottoms.

When it came down to footwear, Cardi B opted for the all-black take on her Reebok Club C Cardi. The sneaker takes inspiration from streetwear styles with its high-shine patent uppers and a see-through lifted midsole from dramatic flair.

The Cardi B x Reebok collab released on Nov. 13 and featured three takes on the brand’s signature Coated Club C Double shoes along with three takes on the original Club C; both silhouettes come in a white and black colorway along with all-red and all-black iterations. The Cardi Coated Club C Double retailed for $80 at Reebok.com whereas the Club C Cardi retailed for $100.

For fans of the Club C Cardi, the styles can now be found on the resale market in all three — red, white and black — colorways; the prices range from $145 to $500 at StockX.com.

“I remember when Reebok came out with hot-pink, neon-green styles, and I wanted them so bad, but I couldn’t afford them. My mom, she used to work and only wear black OG Reeboks, and that’s all she wore. She’d wear the same pair for like three years,” Cardi B remembered as she spoke to FN for her exclusive cover shoot in early November. “Affordability is No. 1. I know where [my fans] stand. I wanted to make something so affordable so that they could have a piece of me. I always make sure it’s affordable even when it comes to my OnlyFans, my merch. I always say to keep in mind the price. These are my fans, I don’t want to be taxing my fans.”

Deemed the Style Influencer of the Year for the upcoming 2020 Footwear News Achievement Awards, Cardi B herself is a master of both luxurious apparel and athleisure fashion. Her Reebok footwear collaboration falls in line with her typical standout style as well with its bold touches.

She continues to hold the ultimate hook-up for sportswear since partnering with the athletic brand in November 2018; together, Cardi B has helped the brand released a series of collections as she starred in a variety of campaigns and videos featuring embellished footwear and vintage-inspired pieces before creating her new collection.

She additionally partnered with Fashion Nova to donate $1,000 every hour to those in need until May 20 as part of the “Fashion Nova Cares” initiative. The rapper also recently filed paperwork with the United States Patent and Trademark Office in September in an attempt to trademark the term “WAP” for a variety of items from footwear to apparel to even alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
