Cardi B Clapped Back at Those Questioning Her ‘Woman of the Year’ Award

On December 10th, Cardi B will be formally recognized as Billboard's Woman of the Year at its annual Women in Music event. Ahead of the awards show, Cardi B took to Instagram to shut down all the trolls and naysayers whining about her being named Woman of the Year despite having only one song out in 2020. And as is true with all Cardi B clapbacks, it's utterly glorious.

"For you cry babies like, 'What? She only got one song.' Yeah, I got that song, bitch," Cardi said in her November 18th Instagram video, referring to her track "WAP" featuring Megan Thee Stallion. "You know, the one that sold the most, the one that streamed the most. The one that had Republicans crying on Fox News about it. The one that's about to be six-times platinum in, like, three months. The one that had your grandma popping her pussy on TikTok. Yeah, bitch, that one."

That mini speech alone makes Cardi B deserving of the Woman of the Year honor, in our opinion.

As though she need to say more to convince us, Cardi B also noted her own political activism throughout the year. "I've been influencing and using my platform for y'all to vote, not just when Joe Biden was going up against Trump," she said. True. "I've been informing y'all about your senators, I've been informing y'all about districts and midterm elections." True! "Using my money, my own money, to meet up with these candidates like Bernie. Yeah, that was me, bitch." TRUE!

Cardi B's "WAP" was streamed over 93 million times over seven days, which set a Billboard record. And in her caption, she thanked her "BARDIGANG" for "encouraging while the world was against me and criticizing every move I wouldn’t have gotten here everyday and use my voice for a change."
