Cardi B leaves Jimmy Fallon befuddled by her trilling
Chart-topping songstress Cardi B visited The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she showed off her 8-carat engagement ring from Migos member Offset. She also impressed Fallon with her ability to trill.
Trill is defined as “a quavering or warbling sound,” and Cardi B did a lot of trilling. She used it as an exclamation point during much of the interview.
Talking about her ring, she said, “I knew he was going to give me a very expensive gift, because he wasn’t there for my birthday. But I thought he was going to give me a watch or something. Anyway, he just went out out of his way. [Trills]”
Initially, her trilling seemed to throw Fallon off. But when they talked about the fact that she has three Top 10 singles on the Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart simultaneously, Fallon got on board with trilling.
The host said, “I mean, I heard that, and I was like — [trills] — you know? And — I totally was. I totally was. I didn’t think I was going to be, but was like — [trills].”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon free on Yahoo View.
