Cara Delevingne Decided Not To Cover Up Her Psoriasis At The Met Gala And A Lot Of People Are Praising Her

Cara Delevingne stripped down on the Met Gala carpet — and didn't feel the need to hide any imperfections.

At the event earlier this week, the model and actor looked glamorous while wearing a head-to-toe Dior ensemble.

But halfway through the red carpet, Cara ditched her red tailcoat to reveal that a lot of her body had been painted gold.

And in an age where many celebrities hurry to cover up anything society might consider a flaw, Cara decided to proudly show hers off — namely her psoriasis flare up.

Fans noticed that Cara was painted gold everywhere, except the spots where she was experiencing the flare up near her elbows.

The skin condition, which causes red, itchy scaly patches, is something Cara has been experiencing for years, and she first opened up about in 2013.

Back then, Cara exposed one of her flare ups on her stomach backstage at a fashion show, where she explained it happened at "stressful times" when she's working a lot.

In fact, psoriasis is part of the reason Cara took a step back from modeling a few years later, explaining that some co-workers would not want to touch her because "they thought it was, like, leprosy or something."

"I am not doing fashion work anymore, after having, like, psoriasis and all that stuff. Modeling just made me feel a bit hollow after a while. It didn’t make me grow at all as a human being," Cara told The Times.

And while psoriasis may have played a factor in Cara's decision to step away from the camera, it's awesome to see her embracing it, let alone at one of the most photographed events of the year.
