Lasagna is a labor of love: You gotta cook the noodles, you gotta make the sauce, you gotta assemble your fillings. But despite all this effort, there's a reason people are obsessed with it. When those layers meld it becomes the most killer pasta dish ever. This Caprese Chicken Lasagna lives up to the hype. We're obsessed with caprese anything (mainly this garlic bread right now) -and this dinner proves why the balsamic, basil, tomato, mozzarella combo is so damn good.
Let's start with the chicken, which is surprisingly one of the stars here: You season it in oregano, salt, and pepper, then stir in balsamic and garlic once it's cooked. It's SO GOOD. After you transfer the chicken to a plate, you start making the sauce in its pan juices, which helps make it super flavorful.
When you start layering, the real caprese flavors make their debut: fresh tomato slices (canned tomatoes could totally work, too), basil, and mozzarella. Once baked, you drizzle the lasagna with balsamic glaze, which you can make from scratch (here's how!) or buy bottled. Either way, it adds an essential sweet finish to this totally cheesy baked pasta dinner. Ciao!
