Candy Cane Tootsie Roll Pops Add a Holiday Twist to a Favorite Childhood Treat

Remember Tootsie Pops? They’re a favorite candy of obnoxious owls who like to mislead children and steal their treats. Well, if you’re feeling particularly nostalgic or need a last-minute stocking stuffer candy with appropriately Christmas-y flavor flourishes, you may want to know that Candy Cane Tootsie Pops have resurfaced just in time to spread some eleventh-hour holiday cheer.

According to Instagram account @ThreeSnackateers, this rare find has been spotted at Target, one of the best places to panic-buy Christmas gifts for people you forgot were on your list.

Appropriately enough, the “Candy Cane” flavoring comes into play via the outer layer. As opposed to the original monochromatic outer shell you may remember, we’re instead greeted by a red and white candy cane swirl that locks in a peppermint flavor befitting of the season. Of course, once you break through that shell you’re greeted by the same Tootsie Roll-style chocolate you’re used to. The cumulative effect is something akin to peppermint bark. It’s no Williams-Sonoma peppermint bark, but for $3.50 a bag, it’ll do.

For that price, these things can work wonders when it comes to enhancing the Christmas experience. Throw them in a stocking or in a mug for a cheap gift perfect for that person with a nostalgic sweet tooth. Shut up hyperactive children by doling them out and telling them to figure out how many licks it takes to get to the center. The options are truly endless, limited only by your imagination and holiday spirit. Happy Tootsie Days.
