Born in Los Angeles, Candace was immediately exposed to the entertainment scene and decided to pursue acting at the age of five, but she wasn’t the first in her family to do so. Her older brother Kirk initially paved the way, starring in a commercial when he was nine, followed by several TV shows.

After appearing in her own share of commercials, Candace joined her brother on-screen when she landed a small role on Growing Pains. A little while later, she became DJ Tanner on Full House at 11 years old. Throughout eight seasons, fans saw Candace grow up before their eyes.

January 2011: She becomes a New York Times best-selling author.

Since her DJ Tanner days, Candace has added author to her résumé, putting pen to paper for a total of five inspirational books, one children’s book, and an interactive journal. In 2011, she released her first book, Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness, in which she opened up about her struggle with food influenced by the “expectations of Hollywood.” Through her faith, she learned to approach nutrition from a more positive angle and hoped to help others do the same. Candace’s relatability and honesty made her debut as an author a New York Times best seller, earning praises from thousands.

Today: Her television career soars higher than ever.

As Candace's publishing career was taking off, she also starred in her first Hallmark movie, Moonlight and Mistletoe in 2008. Over the past eight years, Candace has appeared in a whooping 18 Hallmark movies, including nine for the Aurora Teagarden mystery series. She's also put her producer chops to work for Hallmark for both movies and television specials.

In 2014, the actress went on to participate in Dancing with the Stars, showing off her moves with professional ballroom dancer Mark Ballas, and ultimately winning third place. Shortly after, she became part of The View as a co-host for season 19, filling one of the conservative seats at the table. But a year later she decided to leave, sharing with fans of the show that her constant travel from coast to coast had become too much.

And of course, Candace has made dreams come true by reuniting with her Tanner family in Fuller House. It goes without saying that in everything she does, Candace amazes us with her immense talent and continuous commitment to her family through it all.
