Canadian Ski Area Hosting Annual 'Wiener Takes All' Dog Race

On April 1st, Red Mountain Resort will host the third annual Wiener Takes All dog race.

The resort recently shared this hilarious event recap video to remind its clientele of the upcoming furball showdown.

The race is broken into seven heats, with the top two dogs from each heat participating in finals.

In addition to the standard heats, two other categories—Old Yellers and Underdogs—will have their own races.

Old Yellers are, you guessed it, elderly dogs, while the Underdogs are breeds that you don't typically associate with speed, like a dachshund.

Prizes include pet store gift cards, swag, and pet photo portrait sessions.

Fittingly, hot dogs and beer will be on sale during the event.

The upcoming dog race isn't the only thing worth barking about (sorry) at Red Mountain Resort this ski season. The resort picked up two feet of snow in the past week, creating fantastic skiing conditions—the powder hounds were eating good (sorry again).
