Alexander and Marissa Kerfoot are expecting their first child. The NHLer and his wife surprised fans over the weekend by sharing happy news on social media.

On Sunday, Marissa took to Instagram with a carousel of candid photos documenting her pregnancy and showing off her growing baby bump.

"The past month of patiently waiting to meet our Baby K!" the nutritionist captioned the post.

Fans quickly filled the comments section with congratulatory messages for the soon-to-be parents.

"Amazed you guys kept this on the low for so long! This is such a huge surprise, I love it. Congrats to you both! So happy for you. You're going to be amazing parents," one person commented on the announcement.

"You are going to be the most wonderful mommy! Congratulations to you both," wrote another.

"The bump is bumping!" someone quipped.

"The most beautiful pregnant woman ever!" a fan penned.

"Motherhood already looks amazing on you," said another.

The Vancouver-born centreman — who most recently played for the Arizona Coyotes and is currently rostered on the still-unnamed Utah expansion team — and Marissa's relationship began during their time at Harvard University, where both shared a passion for sports — hockey and field hockey, respectively.

After graduating in 2017, the couple continued dating until Alexander popped the question in 2022. Marissa shared the news of their engagement with a series of Instagram photos from the proposal on her 27th birthday in Boston.

In July 2023, the Kerfoot's announced that they had tied the knot in Okanagan, B.C..

"The best night of our lives!" Marissa captioned a photo of herself and her husband celebrating their nuptials with a kiss in a photo booth. "Celebrating our love and marriage. There was laughter, love, and lots of shirtless men. It was perfect and we couldn’t have asked for better friends and family to celebrate with!! Cheers to forever with you."
