Allow us to maybe possibly make someone’s wildest dream come true: You can buy an actual mascot head from the San Diego Chicken in an online auction that’s happening right now. And, all things considered, the price isn’t unreasonable.

At the time of this writing, the top bid on the Goldin Auctions site for the Chicken’s head was $425. It measures 16 inches and is one of the heads worn by Ted Giannoulas, who created and still portrays the Chicken. To this day, the chicken remains one of the most recognizable mascots in spots, even though it’s been years since he was a fixture at San Diego Padres games.

The auction ends Feb. 17 and the price probably won’t stay at $425, but that’s still a reasonable enough cost that you could consider splitting it with a few friends and owning a unique piece of sports history. That begs the question, though, what would you do with the head of the San Diego Chicken?

We put the question to members of the Yahoo Sports blog crew and here are some recommendations:

• Put it at the foot of your enemy’s bed like in “The Godfather.”

• Terrify your significant other in the middle of the night.

• Wear it to Chick-Fil-A and fight the cow.

• Run a marathon in it.

• Go to your local amusement park and pretend you work there.

Stand behind every Peter Griffin impersonator.

Tell us what you’d do with it in the comments.
