Just a few weeks after King Charles III introduced his new royal cypher, Camilla, Queen Consort, is now following suit.

Buckingham Palace recently unveiled the elegant design for Bowles’s new royal cypher, created to reflect her new rank. And similar to the king's insignia, this emblem features a representation of the crown and her monogram, "CR," in gold letters. It includes the royal's first initial, "C," and the letter "R" for Regina, which is Latin for "queen."

The palace confirmed the cypher was personally selected by Bowles from multiple designs. And her final selection was created by Professor Ewan Clayton, a calligrapher on the Faculty and Academic Board of The Royal Drawing School, and Timothy Noad, a heraldic artist and scrivener at The College of Arms.

Going forward, the regal symbol will be used by the monarch for personal gifts, cards and letterheads. In addition, it'll be included on the cross she will lay at the Field of Remembrance later this week.

As you may have noticed, the Queen Consort is already settling into her new role. Earlier this month, the royal carried out a major first when she hosted a special guest at Buckingham Palace. At the time, she net with Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho. And on Instagram, the royal family shared, “@josephcoelhoauthor is an award-winning performance poet, playwright and children's author, who will hold the role of Children’s Laureate from 2022-24. Her Majesty has long-championed the joy of reading and advocated for the importance of literacy.”

The meeting came as no surprise, given that the Queen Consort is an avid reader who spearheads a virtual book club of her own, The Reading Room. Plus, she currently serves as a patron of several literary-themed organizations, including Book Aid International and the National Literacy Trust.

Keep shining, Queen Camilla.
