Camila Mendes Says She Got Closer with Lili Reinhart and Madelaine Petsch After They All Went Through Breakups

It's no secret that Riverdale castmates Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, and Lili Reinhart are best friends in real life, but Camila just revealed the well-timed occurrence that recently brought them closer together.

"We all got out of relationships at the same time and then went through this pandemic together," Camila said in an interview with Paper. "And now we've been bonded by how much change has happened. Me, Madelaine and Lili, specifically, we've never been closer than we have this season. It's really nice to have them, to feel like I do have friendships here—meaningful ones."

Madelaine ended things with her longterm boyfriend, Travis Mills back in February 2020, just a month before the pandemic hit. These days, the actress is rumored to be dating Olympic fencer, Miles Chamley-Watson, though nothing has been confirmed as of now.

Lili, meanwhile, was dating her Riverdale costar Cole Sprouse, but the pair initially broke things off in January 2020, before making a more permanent split in March of that year.

And then there's Camila, who was also dating a Riverdale cast member, Charles Melton. Cami and Charles ended things in August 2019. She was then dating fashion photographer, Grayson Vaughn, but they split in February of this year.

The whole cast of Riverdale has been quarantining in Vancouver while filming the fifth season of the show, so they've been cut off from many of their family and friends. It makes sense, then, that the trio bonded even tighter under these weird circumstances. Honestly, there's nothing I love more than an IRL cast mate friendship, so I am all for this BFF group.
