Camila Mendes Reveals That Charles Melton's "Cami" Tattoo Is Fake

Could've fooled me!

Camila Mendes and Charles Melton have made it clear that they have a lot of love for each other. Matching bunny hats? You bet. Sweet Instagram kisses? Naturally. Tattoo tributes to their relationship? Well…not quite.

Earlier this week, Cami posted a photo in her IG Stories of Charles seemingly rocking a “CAMI” tattoo across his chest. Fans were quick to notice the ink, tweeting their surprised reactions. “Wait — Charles you didn’t just tattoo Cami’s name on your chest,” one fan wrote, while another exclaimed: “Tell me Charles didn't really make a tattoo with Cami's name…..”

Before the hype could grow any bigger, Camila took to Twitter to set the record straight. “The tat is fake lol thought it was obvious from the sticky patch around it but guess not,” the actor wrote, adding a shrugging emoji for emphasis.

While most people (hopefully) know by now not to believe everything they see on the internet, it just goes to show that sometimes even photos can be deceiving! That said, temporary tattoos are a great way to experiment with body art without committing to a design, and there are a ton out there to choose from — you can even get a copycat of Ariana Grande's delicate cloud tatt with zero needles involved.

As for Cami and Charles, they've found plenty of non-ink ways to demonstrate their love and support for one another — and I bet there’s plenty more romantic mirror selfies in an Instagram post to come.
