Cameron Diaz emanates a rare sunniness that’s difficult to distill. If you’ve seen the actor in one of her many films, or “off duty” in some capacity, you’ve certainly felt it. While her disposition is impossible to emulate (hard as I may try), Diaz’s beauty routine is totally possible to achieve on your own, thanks to a recent Instagram video in which she details her go-to products. (Fret not, I took notes.)

The actor’s beauty brand of choice, as per the video, is Merit — a relatively new yet wildly popular cosmetics line founded on a less-is-more ethos. Housed in svelte, convenience-first packaging, Merit’s formulas are as effortlessly cool as the people who use them. Bella Hadid and Sarah Jessica Parker, for example, share Diaz’s predilection for the brand. InStyle editors love its products too — in particular, the Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick, a skin-enhancing stick that serves as foundation and concealer. (Snag a slightly deeper shade and it becomes a contour stick to boot.)

In the aforementioned video, Diaz praises the product for reducing redness. “My blotches are different everyday!” she says while swooping the stick under her eyes, over her cheeks, and down the center of her nose. As if by magic, the formula melds tracelessly on her skin. Just for good measure, she follows with a fluffy blending brush (Brush No.1). Okra is Diaz’s shade of choice, she explains, as its yellow undertones neutralize redness.

After watching the video on repeat, scribbling product notes all the while, I’ve decided I want everything she mentions (including the vino she’s sipping, from Avaline, a wine company she co-founded).

To add color, Diaz uses Merit’s Flush Balm in Raspberry Beret. “I’ve always been a plummy girl,” she says, dabbing the balmy, berry-hued pigment along her lips and cheeks for a flushed, fresh-faced finish. Then, she adds a touch of contour by swiping Merit Bronze Balm beneath her cheekbones. To finish her look, she brushes the brand’s brow gel and slicks Merit Clean Lash Lengthening Mascara over her lashes.

Though I’m enticed to try every product Diaz uses in her step-by-step tutorial, the Minimalist Stick tops my wishlist. As someone who’s splattered foundation on a new outfit as I scramble to slap my makeup on in a cab, the stick’s portability and ease of use is hugely appealing. I also love that it covers up imperfections without looking like, well, coverup.

If you want a multi-tasking, Cameron Diaz-approved concealer stick for yourself, I recommend snagging the Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick while you can: It’s sold out — six times — in the past. Take advantage of its current in-stock status, just in case history repeats itself.
