Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden Have Welcomed Their First Child
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have welcomed their first child together, the couple confirmed on Friday, January 3.
“Happy New Year from the Maddens,” they wrote in an Instagram post. “We are so happy, blessed, and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family. While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute. Some would even say RAD. From our family to all of yours, we’re sending our love and best wishes for a Happy New Year and Happy New Decade....”

While the couple only revealed their daughter’s first name, The Blast later obtained a copy of Raddix’s birth certificate, which confirmed her very unique middle name. According to the document, Diaz and Madden’s child’s full name is "Raddix Chloe Wildflower Madden."
Their original tight-lipped post shouldn’t surprise fans. Diaz and Madden have always been private about their relationship, so it makes sense they’d be guarded about their first child together.
“He’s just my partner in life, in everything,” Diaz said to People about Madden back in June. “I’ve never had anyone who supported me so much and gave me so much courage to be myself and to really explore myself.”
She added, “My husband has been able to show me what it’s like to...be an equal. And I’ve learned so much from him. I look at him every day and he inspires me. I feel so lucky.”
In February 2016 a source told People that Diaz was ready to start a family. “She has settled in, settled down, and wants to have a family,” they said. “She is doing everything she can to enjoy this time in her life. She is feeling fulfilled and wants to be a mom.”
