This Camera Is Martha's Latest Travel Essential
It's safe to say that Martha knows a thing or two about traveling: Our founder has visited some of the most beautiful locations around the world and recently announced a new partnership with MSC Cruises. That's why we're always excited to hear about her travel must-haves. While we know that Martha believes that packing light is the best way to go (she says that a duffel bag is all you need for your belongings!), we recently learned that this philosophy extends to her vacation gear, too. Namely, her camera.
On a recent trip to Cuba with family and friends, including photographer Douglas Friedman, Martha had the chance to test a new video camera that is compact enough to fit into a small purse or even your pant pocket. She even shared one of the videos the group captured while riding in a vintage convertable washed in a "Chevy bright yellow" hue.
"We had a new camera with us—the DJI Pocket," Martha says. "It is a fantastic camera that fits right onto your iPhone. We did so much filming with it." Because the camera itself can be used either on its own or snapped onto your iPhone, it's versatile and easy to use no matter what you're doing. It's also naturally stabilizing, which means that you'll capture perfect video in any situation.

The
uses a technology called "gimbal stabilization"—as opposed to optical image stabilization, another industry standard—to help create videos that are smooth and steady. Like Martha, you could attach it to your phone and shoot photos and video that way, or simply hold it in your hand to record amazing memories while on vacation. The camera has a long-lasting battery of around 140 minutes, and is capable of shooting 12-megapixel still images, which means you'll save extra space by just packing one camera device on your trip.
"It's so handy and you can get really great pictures for your family and [of] memories," Martha says. "I always suggest that people take a really good camera or a really good iPhone—and make sure you record what you see."
