Céline Dion's appearance on Carpool Karaoke was absolutely everything you could hope for, encompassing a reenactment of Titanic, a hilariously dramatic cover version of "Baby Shark," and a lot of wild anecdotes from Céline. The craziest story of all came towards the end of the interview, as James Corden asked Dion about her extraordinary level of fame in her home country of Canada–to the point where her wedding was broadcast live on Canadian television. In response, Dion shared a surreal experience that she had while giving birth to her first son, René-Charles Dion Angélil, in 2001.

“I’m delivering my first child, I don’t even have him in my arms yet," Dion recalled. "I look to the left, and there's a TV there and the doctor is announcing, live on television, a beautiful healthy boy, 7 pounds 8 ounces. I'm saying to myself, 'My baby is on television, and I didn't even hold him yet.' So I turned it off. I turned off the TV." Even for somebody as famous as Céline Dion, this experience was understandably a bridge too far.

Later in the interview Dion also discussed her infamous shoe collection with Corden, admitting that the rumor that she owns 10,000 pairs is probably true. "I have a place in Las Vegas… let’s call it a warehouse," she explained, adding that she has a system for organizing her shoes that sounds a lot like Cher Horowitz's iconic wardrobe from Clueless. "It's computerized, and I press a button and doors open and it's all by colors," she told an astonished Corden. "There was a whole system." Goals.

In a recent interview with Elle, Dion opened up about why turning 50 gave her a new lease on life. “My life started over at 50,” she told the magazine. “I am discovering myself more and more. I am a woman assuming her own destiny, full of energy and in love with life. It’s never too late to start. At 51, I have the sense that I am at my pinnacle!”
