Buying a Holland America Line gift card? Now you can get a bonus one for free
Thinking about giving the gift of cruise travel this holiday season? Now might be the time to buy. Holland America Line is offering customers 10% bonus gift cards when they purchase a gift card of $250 or more this month.
The promotion runs from Dec. 2 through 13 while supplies last.
"A gift card is a wonderful way to give a memorable experience this holiday season to someone who loves to travel, whether they are already a fan of Holland America Line or have been wanting to try our brand," Beth Bodensteiner, the cruise line's chief commercial officer, said in a news release.
Gift cards are available online through the Holland America website (which you can access by clicking here) and can be emailed instantly or scheduled to be sent at a later time. Travelers can give the bonus gift card to someone else or keep it and treat themselves.

What are the terms of Holland America's bonus gift card promotion?
Holland America gift cards can be used for bookings on all available cruises in 2022 and 2023, as well as open 2024 sailings. Guests can also use gift cards for purchases prior to a cruise, like shore excursions, or used onboard for specialty dining, gratuities, spa treatments and more.
Travelers must be residents of the United States to qualify for the promotion, and the bonus gift cards expire on Dec. 31, 2023. There is no limit on how many gift cards a customer can buy, though some "purchase limits may be imposed for fraud prevention reasons," according to the promotion's terms and conditions.
The bonus gift card will automatically be applied to transactions that qualify, and those purchasing one do not need a promo code.
Holland America also launched a new Refer a Friend program earlier this month, rewarding past guests who refer new customers to the line – and those they refer – in credit.
