Buy the Chloe Charms all of the Models Were Carrying in Paris

Most Parisian labels haven’t jumped on the see-now-buy-now craze embraced by Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, and Moschino. (This is, after all, the city where traffic jams last hours, and waiters take two hours to bring your check…)

But Chloé dipped their Susanna boots into the trend Thursday, with one small step for shoppers, one giant leap for the brand: monogrammed handbag charms carried by models, with comparable versions already available for purchase sur l'Internet.

It’s a bitty gesture in the grand scheme of ruffled dresses and much-craved denim, but a big deal from a business perspective: It shows the French fashion giant’s willingness to embrace not just pretty girls on the Internet (who crammed most of this morning’s front row) but actual retail trends sparked and supported by actual shoppers. That’s even more exciting when you consider the charms cost $50 each—still expensive, but a far cry from Tom Ford’s see-now-buy-now offerings, including a $12,450 dress.

Does this signal the beginning of Chloe’s total digital domination? That probably depends on how well the charms sell. But considering Net-a-Porter’s already out of the letter K (sorry, Karlie, Kendall, and Kiki!), perhaps we can hope for floaty dream dresses that zoom straight to our closets in the near future.

Until then, we’ll take the shearling slides, please.
