I'm now on my *checks watch* eighth consecutive hour of dreamy, slow-jam bliss, thanks to Taylor Swift's new album, Folklore. How many times have I watched the "Cardigan" music video? FAR too many. But can you blame me?! Devastating lyrics that cut deeper each time you listen, beautiful woodland forestscapes, and dreamy cottagecore costumes – even while social distancing, Taylor nailed it.

Taylor told followers that, because of COVID safety precautions, the video was filmed with a super minimal production team. She directed the video herself and skipped out on a glam team to do her own hair, makeup, and styling.

Shedding the rainbow color scheme of Lover, the pop star introduced fans to yet another new era of Taylor Swift style. The polar opposite of her "ME!" music video, Taylor spends all of "Cardigan" draped in a romantic nightgown in a creamy shade of beige. It was a simple look completed with soft, curled bangs and braided buns, straight from the Little House on the Prairie playbook.

In the very last scene, Taylor finds warmth and comfort in an old cardigan – just like the song said. It's a plush, cable-knit sweater you just want to nap in.

The cardigan in the song is purely for metaphorical purposes, but the sweater in the video is very real – and available on the official Taylor Swift website. Yep, Taylor is selling reproductions (stars and all) of the nautical sweater, noting that "Taylor seen wearing m/l in the 'cardigan' music video."
