Noah Commerford has been named chief executive officer of the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Pueblo, replacing interim director Charles Hernandez.

“Noah brings enthusiasm and a core understanding of our organization’s mission and vision, which will allow the chamber to continue its momentum in supporting the business community of Pueblo,” said board chair Ray Romero.

Commerford has served on the chamber board and will continue to serve as treasurer. He also has served as the Supporting Pueblo coordinator for the chamber.

A graduate of Pueblo West High School, he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Colorado State University Pueblo.

The Latino Chamber of Commerce of Pueblo was created in 1979 to serve as the voice for the fast-growing Hispanic business community. It has evolved since to serve as the voice for small business development in southern Colorado.

Flavor of Pueblo returns after COVID

United Way of Pueblo County’s Flavor of Pueblo event is returning this year after taking a forced break in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 17th annual culinary taste adventure will be held Thursday, May 12 from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Pueblo Convention Center. All proceeds benefit United Way.

“Not only is the Flavor of Pueblo such a tradition in our community and a fundraiser for United Way, but it also serves as an opportunity to support Pueblo’s food and beverage industry," said United Way director of resource development Jimmy DiIorio.

Vendors have until April 15 to sign up for a booth. Fees for booths are $50 for returning vendors and $75 for newcomers. Event sponsorship opportunities are also offered and range in price from $100 to $1,000.

The public can buy tickets online in advance or at the Pueblo Memorial Hall Box Office at 1 City Hall Place for $25. Tickets will also be available on the day of the event for $30.

Tickets entitle visitors to sample food and beverages provided by vendors. Specialty beverages, additional food and other items will be available for purchase.
