Fans have estimated the number of times Tommy Shelby has put back a glass of whiskey on Peaky Blinders. That number: 213. For 36 hours of television, that’s almost 6 glasses an episode. On set, when filming, that number is probably in the hundreds. (Actor Cillian Murphy estimates the cigarettes are even more; he says he’s probably smoked 3,000 each season.) Obviously, Murphy isn’t actually drinking on set—the crew supposedly uses tea, lots of tea. (As for the cigarettes, the crew uses fake herbal cigarettes, which apparently sticks to Murphy’s lips, the reason you’ll see him practically gumming the cigarettes in Season 6.)
If Tommy were drinking whiskey, he’d likely be drinking something a little different from what fans pour at home.
But if you're looking to get your whiskey fix in the spirit of Tommy and the rest of the Shelby family, Bushmills just launched a limited release of the exact liquor seen in the series, the Prohibition Blend Irish Whiskey.
The whiskey brand returns to its roots with a blend that gets as close to what would have been served at the Garrison pub in the early 1900s, transporting you right into the setting of the show. Made with no chill filtration, more alcohol (this bottle has 46% ABV), and aged in bourbon barrels, the whiskey employs the same methods used during Prohibition. The result: A spicey blend of rye bread, almonds, orange marmalade and cinnamon finished with citrus and vanilla. It's maybe as close to early 20th Century Birmingham and the Shelby Company Limited as you can get.

Bushmill's Peaky Blinders Irish whiskey, which is available for $43, also comes in a bottle designed to match the one seen in the show, featuring a vintage aesthetic inspired by the 1920s and a label with the Bushmills logo and the Shelby family emblem.
