Bunny Eyez are not your average pair of reading glasses. Jenny Hutt, radio host of “Just Jenny” on SiriusXM, and her sister, Stacy Fritz, invented these genius readers after identifying a need. While at a hair salon, they were frustrated that they couldn’t wear their glasses to flip through magazines without dye getting all over the frames.
Thanks to that beauty conundrum, Bunny Eyez was born.
Available in 10 different shapes for men and women, and in a range of colors, the stylish readers can be worn straight-on, tilted down, or as opera glasses. They look just like traditional glasses, but their flexible frames mean you can wear them no matter what you’re doing.
The brand is named after the sisters’ beloved late mother Bunny, who died of pancreatic cancer. “She was the most amazing mom,” Fritz tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “She was so loving. She was so caring. She was supersmart.” Adds Hutt: “She was larger than life, and sometimes those are the people you lose too soon.”
Naming the company after their mom also comes with a special bonus: They get to hear their mother’s name spoken every day. “We have joy saying her name again,” says Fritz, “and that’s really a gift to us.”
Bunny Eyez has its share of celebrity fans, including Kaley Cuoco, Kristin Bell, Debra Messing and Hoda Kotb. “We didn’t anticipate that so many celebrities and that so many people, in general, would fall in love with the product,” Hutt tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
The $27 Bunny Eyez readers get rave reviews on Amazon. “These readers are not only cute and stylish but are functional as well. I wish that my regular prescription glasses were made this way. The feature to move one arm out of your way when lying in bed is one of the best,” writes a happy customer. “I love my Bunny Eyez! My ‘over 40’ eyes have made readers necessary. I love being able to comfortably read in bed or tilt the glasses down for distance viewing with my own eyes. Wonderful customer service too!” says another.
