Bull Seal Gets Acquainted With Diver Off The Coast of Northumberland, England

A deep-sea diver from Northumberland, England, made a new underwater pal on August 23 off the coast of the Farne Islands, an archipelago in the North Sea.

Ben Burville captured footage of the event which shows the seal attempting to playfully bite his hand and use his flipper to slap the diver’s hand.

“This is a bull grey seal and they very rarely interact like this,” Burville told Storyful.

Burville, who has been studying the underwater behaviour of seals for over 20 years, added, ""The seal initiated the interaction and was very gentle." Credit: Ben Burville via Storyful
