Buck Effortlessly Swims Across Bay in British Columbia

A deer was spotted swimming across Pedder Bay, near Victoria, British Columbia, on August 20.

Footage recorded by Ashley MacDonald shows a buck expertly making its way across the water.

MacDonald said she initially thought the bobbing antlers were a dead tree, but realized it was a buck after getting closer.

“We followed him for about 20 minutes as he crossed the bay. It’s about a kilometer wide,” MacDonald told Storyful.

“We kept our distance and made sure he wasn’t struggling. He swam fast and well! He made it to the other side just fine,” she said. Credit: Ashley MacDonald via Storyful
