Bryce Harper shows love to Vegas Golden Knights with excellent bat decal

If Major League Baseball put a team in Las Vegas tomorrow, there’s no doubt they would immediately become the favorite to sign Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper this winter. Harper — who grew up in Vegas — loves his hometown.

Las Vegas hasn’t been known for its professional sports teams until recently. With the Vegas Golden Knights already advancing to the second round of the NHL playoffs, Harper decided to pay tribute to the club with a special bat knob decal.

That’s pretty cool. And while it’s not one of the most creative bat knobs we’ve seen over the years — who could forget Matt Duffy excellent “Duff Man” one — it’s a nice reminder that MLB lifted its rules on personalized bat knob decals.

Harper’s been one of the most frequent users of the bat knob decal. He used the “100” emoji when he was in pursuit of his 100th home run and he paid tribute to Harambe — the gorilla who was tragically killed in 2016 — just because.

Harper’s previous choices have shown he likes to live in the moment, picking decals that reference current events. That means we should probably watch to see what Harper has on his bat knob on the last day of the season. Our guess would include a couple “$$$” signs or a picture of a baby bear.

Look, Harper has made it no secret he’s close to Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant. That should come as no surprise. Bryant is also from Vegas, you know.
