The Parish Museum's annual party honored artist Maya Lin, the designer of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
On July 13, the Parrish Art Museum celebrated its annual Midsummer Party with nearly 450 artists, art collectors, curators, philanthropists, and business leaders from the Hamptons and beyond. This year, the Museum honored long-time supporters Louise and Leonard Riggio, and artist Maya Lin, who famously designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at age 21. Guests enjoyed the art exhibits, dinner and dancing, and a live auction, which raised $1 million to benefit the museum's activities.
Jeff: Typecasting everyone into this two-party system is an outdated practice. It shouldn't be about which party "controls" the House or which party "controls" the Senate. The fact that both can be diametrically opposed on the same issue is a clear indicator that politicking usurps moral judgment. And fairness will never be accomplished while our representatives refuse to stray from the herd.
