Mom Christina Angel was simply shopping for a Disney princess dress for herself — as one does — when her adorable 13-year-old son had a better idea: to create a Disney princess photo shoot for his sister Anabel (Belle, for short, fittingly) to celebrate her 5th birthday.

“I was actually looking at a costume website because I wanted to be a princes,” Angel told Yahoo Style. She had just given birth to her seventh child a few weeks ago and was looking for a princess gown to reward herself with if she “lost the baby weight.” Her son Anthony was beside her and saw a Prince Charming costume and asked his mom if she would buy one for him. “Belle had just had a birthday, and he wanted to surprise her with a princess photo shoot as a birthday gift,” Angel said. Of course, Angel was thrilled at the idea. And luckily, Angel is not only a superstar mom, but she also happens to be the owner of and photographer at Paint the Sky Photography in Cincinnati. “I do princess/fairy-tale shoots with frequency, so I was by no means unprepared when my son asked to do this shoot.” Of course, it was extra special because it was her own kids on the other side of the lens.

They waited for the weather to get warm enough, so they’d have a fairy-tale setting for the shoot, and set things in motion. “I got everything together, and he surprised her with the gown dressed in his costume,” she said.

Anthony, a real Prince Charming, made sure every detail was in place, “right down to him shining his dress shoes the old-fashioned way, with solid polish and an old rag,” Angel wrote on her company’s Facebook page.

“Belle was elated. She put her hands up by her mouth and squealed. Then we dressed her quickly and told her we were going to take pictures of her as a real-life princess,” she recalled, describing every girl’s little dream. Heck, every woman’s dream. We’d be stoked to have a permanent record of that time we got to be a princess.

“The shoot was absolutely heartwarming. I was teary-eyed through the whole thing,” Angel gushed. “Anthony was so sweet with Belle. He carried her from spot to spot for each photo; there were lots of hugs and happy dances. He genuinely enjoyed every minute of the shoot. She was on cloud nine, as you can see from her face in the photos. She kept giggling and telling anyone who would listen that he was her ‘favorite boy.’” He’s officially our favorite little boy too.

The results are a collection of seriously sweet images in a misty magical flower-filled setting, Belle in a brand-new Snow White dress (we appreciate that Anthony didn’t go for the obvious choice), headband and all, and Anthony in a matching prince suit with a sash, fringed shoulders, the whole nine yards. In one picture, Bella stands on a Juliet- or Rapunzel-worthy balcony while her sweet brother reaches up to her. In another, she ditches the headband and gives Snow White a creative twist with red ears while her big bro twirls her around.

Apparently, men doing super-sweet Disney-themed things for the women in their family is a new trend. A California-based fashion designer named Nephi Garcia designs stunningly accurate costumes for his children — Lili, Eddy, and Leo — of their favorite characters, from Aurora to Tinker Bell.

Now he just has to contact Angel to arrange a family portrait in the costumes.

Oh, and, Christina, we think raising such sweet children earns you your very own Disney costume, no matter what size you are.
