Sam Asghari isn't mincing his words when it comes to the controversy surrounding Jamie Spears, father of his girlfriend, Britney Spears.

Today, the model and actor took to Instagram to address fervent Britney fans who have rallied together recently in support of the pop star. Though longtime fans of the singer have vocalized their criticism of the star's more than 12-years-long conservatorship helmed by her father, their concerns are finally being validated with the release of the Hulu and New York Times Presents documentary, Framing Britney Spears. Since the film's premiere last Friday, Britney and the #FreeBritney hashtag have remained a top trending topic on Twitter, with fans, celebrities, and peers of the pop star demanding the 39-year-old artist be freed from the legal and emotional constraints of her long-standing conservatorship.

"Now it's important for people to understand that I have zero respect for someone trying to control our relationship and constantly throwing obstacles our way," said Asghari in a post shared to his Instagram Stories. "In my opinion Jamie [Spears] is a total dick."

Asghari continued, expressing that he wouldn't be going into further detail about the situation at hand for the sake of his and Britney's privacy.

"I won't be going into details because I've always respected our privacy but at the same time I didn't come to this country to not be able to express my opinion and freedom," said the Iranian-born actor.

Asghari's social media statement comes after he released a less-scathing statement to People magazine yesterday. The actor seemingly expressed his support of Britney's fans voicing their concerns for the pop star and shared his hope that he and the singer could soon have a "normal" life together.

"I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," Asghari told the outlet. "I am thankful for all of the love and support she is receiving from her fans all over the world, and I am looking forward to a normal, amazing future together."
