Britney Spears and Sam Asghari have reportedly split after just one year of marriage

Britney Spears and her husband of just over a year, Sam Asghari have allegedly split, according to reports. On Wednesday 16 August, TMZ announced that the apparent breakup was due to an argument about infidelity. The outlet reported that Sam, 29, had confronted Britney, 41, after rumours began circulating that she had been unfaithful. However, while the allegations triggered a "huge fight" between the pair, TMZ has been unable to confirm if the cheating accusation "has any basis in fact."
A source did tell the publication that Sam has since moved out of their marital home, and is now living independently in a place of his own. They also added that it's likely the couple will legally finalise the split, sharing: "It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce."
An NBC News source then reported that "they're separated and it's best for Britney," who - following multiple outlets publishing the news online - took to Instagram to share a photo of her riding a horse on the beach. Plus, announcing that she'll be "buying a horse soon."
The split rumours and alleged infidelity row come just over two months after Britney and Sam celebrated their one-year anniversary. The pair exchanged vows on 9 June 2022 in a star-studded LA ceremony but had been linked since 2016 after they met on the set of the singer's Slumber Party music video. Sam popped the question in 2021 inside the former couple's home and presented Britney with a ring he had designed himself, with the help of a jeweller.
As of now, neither Britney nor Sam have commented on the alleged breakup.
