Britney Spears Just Debuted Pink Hair for the Summer

Summer is just a few weeks away, and Britney Spears is debuting a new hair color for the season: rose-gold pink. 

The pop icon revealed the surprising change on Instagram Monday, May 10. She uploaded several photos and videos of herself wearing a leopard catsuit with the captions “Miss pussycat loves to bite 😬😼🐾... be careful ladies and gentlemen 😜😜😜 !!!!!” and “SHE WANTS TO MOVE.” But the real delight of these posts is her new hair color. Aside from wigs in music videos and perfume commercials, Britney Spears isn’t one to switch up her hair color—so this rose-gold moment feels particularly special. This dye job comes after weeks of Spears opening up on Instagram about the various documentaries out there about her legal conservatorship, which doesn’t give her full control over her life and finances. (Two in particular, Framing Britney Spears and The Battle for Britney, have sparked widespread discussions.) She criticized the projects for focusing on the negatives of her life instead of the positives. 

“So many documentaries about me this year with other people’s takes on my life ... what can I say … I’m deeply flattered !!!!” she wrote on IG. “These documentaries are so hypocritical … they criticize the media and then do the same thing 🤔🤔🤔????? Damn … I don’t know y’all but I’m thrilled to remind you all that although I’ve had some pretty tough times in my life ... I’ve had waaaayyyy more amazing times in my life and unfortunately my friends … I think the world is more interested in the negative 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ !!!! I mean … isn’t this supposed to be a business and society about THE FUTURE 🤧🤧🤧 ???? Why highlight the most negative and traumatizing times in my life from forever ago ???? I mean DAMN.”
