Brigitte Macron Proves You Can Wear Jeans on the Job

The First Lady of France showed that a great coat and pair of jeans is still a winning combo.

As First Lady of France, Brigitte Macron is expected to be polished, professional, and quietly stylish—and that extends to her more casual outings, too. (Both she and President Emmanuel Macron have proved their off-duty couples style is on point.) Today, Macron paid a visit to a high school near Paris, France, to discuss bullying, and the appearance continued her winning style streak, proving a great coat and pair of jeans is indeed still a winning combo.

For the event, Macron chose a sharp navy, double-breasted overcoat, which was tailored just right and falls in line with her usual chic wardrobe (navy and red are her most worn colors). For more of an off-duty vibe—though she was very much on the job—she dressed it down with a matching navy button-up shirt, and a pair of streamlined medium-wash jeans. To give it that classic French twist, she then wrapped a slim, deep navy scarf around her neck, and slipped on a pair of black suede boots for a finishing touch that was current, but fittingly put together.
