There’s nothing quite like puppy love. On her wedding day in early November, Kristen Dupree decided to take first look wedding photos with someone very special… but not her husband. The bride, 24, decided to have a first look with her dog Zeke instead.

The photoshoot happened because the groom, Duncan Dupree, 25, didn’t want to do a first look before their ceremony, according to Today. Since the bride wanted a moment, she decided to have one with her 2-year-old AKC Labrador retriever instead at her venue in Spanish Fort, Alabama.

The bride tapped photographer Perri Farlow of Farlow Photography to get some pre-ceremony pictures of the moment. The result was an adorable collection of photos.

Along with the cute photos the couple can cherish, Kristen says a positive of the photo shoot was that it provided a relaxing break in the busy day, per Today.

More and more couples continue to buck tradition and personalize their wedding day—and one of the most popular ways to do so is by incorporating furry friends. Our study also found that 7 percent of all couples who got married last year included their pets (or other animals) in their nuptials.

Farlow Photography took to Facebook to share the cute pictures of Kristen and Zeke, and the post went viral.

The couple’s decision to opt for a semi-first look reflects national data. The Knot 2018 Real Weddings Study found that couples are also split 50/50 when it comes to the day-of tradition of first look sessions. Just under half of all couples who wed last year participated in a first look while the others didn’t.

Of course, those wanting to take wedding pictures with their furry friends can work with a professional photographer to make a plan. It will create fun memories on the day of the celebration—and the adorable photos will last fur-ever.
