Brice Sensabaugh reportedly receiving positive feedback from the NBA
With the latest dip into the transfer portal for the Ohio State basketball team, the roster is almost set for this season. Well, aside from one thing — the future of Brice Sensabaugh, who is testing the NBA waters after a sensational freshman campaign.
It has been a little quiet since the 6-foot, 6-inch forward out of Orlando, Florida, entered his name into the NBA fray, so we’re all just playing the waiting game it seems.
However, some news circulated thanks to our friends over at the Columbus Dispatch. Adam Jardy caught up with Sensabaugh at The Foundation‘s Spring Festival at Value City Arena. And while Sensabaugh is still weighing his decision, it appears as though he’s received some fairly favorable feedback from NBA types.
In fact, he’s been hearing he’s a back-half of the first-round selection.
“That’s what I’m hearing, yeah,” Sensabaugh told The Dispatch on Thursday night. “I think it’s going to be tough (to decide), but at the end of the day, I think I’ll have that gut feeling. I’ve gotten some good feedback so far. Just keep riding that out and keep working and see where it takes me.”

Though we’re not quite ready to dive head first into the deep end of the speculation pool, and Sensabaugh is saying he’s not yet made up his mind, you’d have to think that passing up the game’s highest level after knowing you’ll likely be a first-rounder is going to be tough to pass up.

In the interim, according to the report from the Dispatch, there’s really no immediate timetable for a decision from Sensabaugh. He’s going to head to L.A. to work out until the NBA draft combine that’s set to take place on May 16. From there, he’ll likely have a pro day at OSU and have a couple of weeks before he has to make a decision. The deadline to withdraw from the NBA draft process is June 1.
Either way, Sensabaugh has relished his time in Columbus as Buckeye despite the underwhelming and disappointing season the team experienced last year.
“The Ohio State brand has done so much for me this year,” Sensabaugh told the Dispatch. “I’m so incredibly grateful for everybody, from the top of the staff to the bottom. Anybody who’s ever helped me in this program is much appreciated by me. I’m super proud to have played as a Buckeye and worn it on my chest.
“Wherever I go or wherever the future holds for me, I’m always grateful and I think I learned some important stuff this year and I matured. It was cool.”
