Briana DeJesus Says a Friendship with Javi Marroquin's Ex Kailyn Lowry Is 'Not Going to Happen'

They may be costars, but it doesn’t look likely that Briana DeJesus and Kailyn Lowry will ever be friends.

On part two of the Teen Mom 2 reunion on Monday night, DeJesus opened up about her relationship with Javi Marroquin — and discussed Lowry’s reaction to ex-husband Marroquin’s “friendship” with DeJesus.

Despite her assurance at the time of filming that she and Marroquin were only friends and not dating, DeJesus claimed the other mothers on the show were less than welcoming to her.

“I feel like I’m the new girl, so there’s that high school vibe,” DeJesus told host Dr. Drew. “I just think certain people are salty about certain things.”

“Like what?” Dr. Drew asked.

“Javi and I and my family have a closer connection than Kail and I,” she said. “Kail’s feeling some type of way about it, and because Kail is feeling some type of way, the other girls [on the show] don’t want to be my friend.”

When Dr. Drew asked if she and Lowry could make amends, DeJesus revealed she’d already tried backstage.

“It’s not going to happen,” she said. “We tried today and it’s not working out.”

Lowry’s apparent disapproval of Marroquin and DeJesus spending time together has made no difference to the two. Marroquin, who shares 4-year-old son Lincoln with Lowry, told PEOPLE in October that he and DeJesus were dating.

“We are dating,” Marroquin said. “We’ve been friends for a while and we weren’t in a rush.” DeJesus and MTV did not respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

While that was the first time Marroquin had declared them official, the pair had been hinting on social media — in several Instagram posts and tweets — that a relationship was brewing between them.

On Saturday, it appeared that things between the two were getting more serious as DeJesus traveled with her two daughters from Florida to Delaware to celebrate Lincoln’s birthday with Marroquin and his family.

DeJesus shares 6-year-old daughter Nova with ex Devoin Austin, and 4-month-old daughter Stella with ex Luis Hernandez.

Marroquin and DeJesus then attended a Golden State Warriors basketball game on Saturday, with DeJesus writing on Twitter, “Warriors game tonight with bae.”
