A woman in Colorado is being called a local hero after scaring off a group of armed robbers who entered her daughter’s home on Wednesday.

According to a police report, it was about 2:30 p.m. when police got a call about three boys who entered the home in Pueblo, Colo., with a stolen shotgun and handgun in their possession. Surveillance footage obtained by KKTV shows that they were wearing hoods and bandanas in an attempt to conceal their identities, as they made their way from the backdoor through the rest of the house.

As the last boy entered the home, he’s heard shouting to the other two asking what they found, to which one responded, “The car keys to the back car.” Moments later, however, they are seen frantically running out of the home after hearing somebody approaching.

“I have a gun!” a woman yells from just outside the front door. According to KKTV, the unnamed woman is the homeowner’s mother, who lives just across the street and noticed that the door was ajar. She told the local Colorado outlet that she grabbed her pistol before heading over.

“I’m glad I was warning them that I was coming in this way, they wouldn’t surprise me,” she said.

Her warning prompted the three suspects to run out the back. Still, she continued to shout threats.

“I wasn’t afraid, I wasn’t scared,” she explained. “It had to have probably been adrenaline.”

Police showed up shortly thereafter and found the three suspects fleeing the neighborhood by foot. One of the suspects, a 14-year-old boy, was taken into custody.

The other two suspects remain at large, according to the police report.
