What Alabama basketball's Brandon Miller said at NCAA Tournament about death threats, security guard
BIRMINGHAM — After defeating Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Alabama basketball star freshman Brandon Miller said he has received death threats that were directly sent to him.
Earlier in the week, coach Nate Oats said Miller had received death threats, in response to Miller being seen with a security guard at Legacy Arena during NCAA Tournament practice on Wednesday.
Asked how he feels about the threats, Miller said: "It doesn't matter, I sent it to the right people."
When asked about having a security guard, Miller said it was normal and that most of the time the public never sees them.

"All teams travel with security guards, whether you see them or not," Miller said. "Y'all just happened to see him at a certain time. That's the thing about that."
When asked if the off-the-court matters ever get to him, Miller was brief, responding with "no."
Miller has become the center of backlash after Feb. 21 court testimony from a Tuscaloosa Police detective that Miller brought former teammate Darius Miles' gun to the scene of the death of Jamea Jonnea Harris. Miles and Michael Davis, who is unaffiliated with UA, have been indicted on capital murder charges for the Jan. 15 shooting.
Miller's attorney has stated Miller never touched the gun. Miller has not been charged with any crime.
