Everything We Know So Far About "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" Sequel "P.S. I Still Love You"

From Seventeen

If you're like us, you've already seen To All the Boys I've Loved Before multiple times and are so excited for the sequel so you can spend more time with Lara Jean and Peter. Thankfully, Netflix has granted our wish and another movie will be happening. Keep up to date with everything you need to know about To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2 while you wait anxiously for it to hit Netflix.

Here's everything we know about the movie so far...

Is there a trailer?

Yes! After months of waiting, Netflix has finally released a trailer for To All the Boys I've Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You and it's just as amazing as one would hope.

In the trailer, we see a little bit of what Noah and Lara Jean's relationship is like now that they're no longer faking it. They go out to dinner, they do romantic things like float personalized lanterns into the sky, and they give each other gifts.

Everything is so cute and perfect, until Lara Jeans takes a spill and John Ambrose is the one to help her up. It then becomes clear that this love triangle is about to be split up friend groups around the world.

Luckily, we have less than two months to wait before the film hits Netflix and we get to see who wins over Lara Jeans heart. Until then, I'll be watching this trailer over and over again.

Are there any pics from the movie?

Exactly two months before the release of To All the Boys I've Loved Before: P.S. I Still Love You, Entertainment Weekly has dropped images from the film, and they look romantic af.

We already know that there's going to be a love triangle between Lara Jean, Peter Kavinsky, and, newcomer, John Ambrose McClaren, but these pics prove that Lara Jean's decision is going to be a very tough one.

In the images, we see Lara Jean and Peter enjoying their newly uncomplicated relationship together, doing normal things like embracing in the hallway, hanging with Lara Jean's fam, and sending off a personalized floating lantern.

Of course, things get complicated in the fourth pic where John and LJ seem to be dancing in the snow in what might be the most romantic scene I've seen in a while.

So, yeah, things are going to get complicated, which is exactly what Director Michael Fimognari is going for. “We certainly want there to be a Team Peter and a Team John," he said to EW.

Lana Condor explained that John coming back complicates things because he and Lara Jean were so close. "Because you can love your friend very much, you get confused," she said. "You’re like, 'Do I love him or do I love him as a friend?' So he’s really there to mix it up."

P.S. I Love You comes out February 12th, so we still have two months to wait before we see who Lara Jean picks between her two suitors. In the meantime, I'll be ordering a Team Peter tee online.

Has the movie wrapped filming yet?

Lana Condor is officially saying goodbye to Lara Jean Covey in a new Instagram post. The cast and crew wrapped filming for the third and final film over two weeks ago and Lana shared a sweet note about the experience.

"One day all of this will be proof, proof that we were here, proof that we loved each other. It’s the guarantee that no matter what happens to us in the future, this time was ours.” - Always and Forever, Lara Jean. It’s been 16 days since the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise wrapped shooting movies 2 & 3. I’ve been really struggling how to put into words my feelings towards this ending... words will never be able to describe my love for Lara Jean. Her family, her friends, Peter. Words will never be able to describe the long nights on set, where it would suddenly hit me, like a ton of bricks, that I was getting the honor of portraying a girl so fiercely determined in love, who represents strength in softness. Words will never be able to describe my gratitude to YOU, for loving her as much as I do. For tying your hair up in a scrunchie and saying "let’s do this." Thank you from the very bottom of my heart, you’ve made me feel like the luckiest girl alive. Always & Forever, your Lara Jean.

She posted a photo of herself sitting in Lara Jean's iconic bedroom, likely from one of the last scenes that she shot there.

Series creator Jenny Han commented on Lana's post saying, "Thank you for being our beautiful Lara Jean. So proud of you, always and forever. 💕"

How will John Ambrose change things for Lara Jean and Peter?

Uh oh! It looks like Peter might have to worry about things a bit during P.S. I Still Love You now that John Ambrose is back in the picture.

"John Ambrose shakes the table up just by being somebody in Lara Jean's eyes. I think Lara Jean giving any attention to anybody but Peter Kavinsky is already big deal," Jordan Fisher told Entertainment Tonight. "I think what she goes through -- recognizing how important John Ambrose was to her and how he was her first love and he was the first letter that she wrote, there's so much that comes back in a blink of an eye for her. That alone shakes everything up,"

While John might be trying to break up everyone's favorite Netflix couple, don't expect to hate him so easily.

"Listen, like, John Ambrose is a daddy," Fisher said. "I'm not gonna lie. He's dope. He's the guy you hope she ends up with in the grand scheme of things, because he just has his head on his shoulders and he's very together and he's charming and all of these things. It was a lot of fun to play and I'm excited for people to see it. I think people going are going to like it."

So who will win Lara Jean's heart in the end? Guess we'll have to wait and see to find that out!

Any news about the third film?

While we're all eagerly awaiting for the second film to come out, the cast is already hard at work on the third and they're even filming in Korea. In the third novel, Lara Jean and her sisters head over to Korea together and it looks like the Covey sisters are leaving their mark as they wrap up filming the third film.

Lana posted the video of a special lock with the words "always and forever," the name of the third movie/novel and "Covey sisters" along with all their names. They added it to a lock bridge by the N Seoul Tower. Check out the cute pics of their lock below:

When will P.S. I Still Love You be released?

Get ready to see what's next with Lara Jean and Peter K! Netflix has officially announced that P.S. I Still Love You will officially premiere on February 12, just in time for Valentine's Day. They made the announcement with a cute new gif featuring our favorite couple and a bunch of hearts. They also confirmed that a third movie, To All The Boys: Always And Forever Lara Jean, is officially in the works.

The cast also got together to create a cute little announcement that will make you wish the movie was coming out already.

Lana and Noah even made a cute video of their own that will make you totally wish it was coming out sooner!

Does the story end with the second movie?

No! It was previously announced that TATBILB3 based on the third and final book in the series, Always and Forever, Lara Jean was set to begin production on July 15. But it seems it's already started because fans have reportedly seen the cast shooting scenes in NYC over the past few weeks, according to Just Jared Jr.

While, there hasn't been any conformation that production has really started, all signs point to yes. To add to the fire, Noah tweeted "It's official. Is that confirmation TATBILB is on its way? Let us know Noah!

Will we see more of Josh and Lara Jean's friendship?

The end of To All the Boys I've Loved Before left Josh and Lara Jean in a good place after he helped her realize that she was really in love with Peter with the help of Kitty. Even though the two best friends are close again, don't expect to see Peter in the new sequel. According to Israel Broussard, he won't be a part of the new movie.

"I’m not going to be in the sequel," he told Entertainment Tonight. "There’s three books… I believe I make an appearance in the third one, but Noah and Lana are all up there filming, and they’re having a great time."

It shouldn't be completely surprising since the second movie mostly focuses on Lara Jean's triangle between Peter Kavinsky and John Ambrose. While the series hasn't been picked up for a third movie yet, we don't doubt it will happen and that we'll see more of Josh in the next one.

Are there any sneak peeks of the movie?

Shooting is still pretty much underway in Vancouver, but that doesn't mean it's too early for fans to get a special sneak peek of what to expect with Lara Jean and Peter K.

In the new photo, Lara Jean and Peter are seen walking around in sweats, likely back at the football field for gym class, the same place they had their first kiss.

"Your fav duo is comin in strong guys...you aren't ready for what we're making for you!!!," Lana wrote.

Are there pics from behind-the-scenes?

Now that To All the Boys 2 has officially begun filming, your social media feeds are probably inundated with BTS pics from the cast. Not that I'm complaining. I live to see the cast interact between scenes, and the content they're posting has truly made me feel like I'm on set with Noah, Lana, and Jordan.

The boys seemed to be enjoying the good weather in Vancouver as they sang along to "Go the Distance" from Hercules. Jordan Fisher wasn't afraid to call out Ross Butler for not knowing the words in their hilarious video.

The Covey sisters officially united, right as Lana was munching on an egg roll.

Of course, BFFs Ross and Noah have been enjoying their quality time together too.

And now that Jordan Fisher has joined the cast as John Ambrose, he's getting in on the BTS antics too!

Ugh, what I would do to be on that set.

Who else is joining the cast?

The To All the Boys I've Loved Before sequel gets better and better with every casting announcement, and this one is no different. According to Deadline, Netflix just announced three more actresses who will be joining in on the movie: Madeleine Arthur, Holland Taylor, and Sarayu Blue.

Madeleine will be reprising her role as the super cool Christine, Lara Jean's BFF, in the sequel. Meanwhile, Holland, from Legally Blonde fame, will be joining the cast as Stormy, an elderly woman who lives at a retirement community where Lara Jeans volunteers. Fans of Jenny Han's series, which the movies are based on, will recognize Stormy as a character from P.S. I Still Love You. Finally, Sarayu will join the cast as Trina, the Song-Covey's next door neighbor, whom Kitty will try to set her dad up with, which is so classic Kitty.

On top of the new castings, it has also been confirmed that Anna Cathcart and Janel Parrish will be returning to play Lara Jean's sisters. The two are already on set and with the three Song-Covey sisters together, everything seems right in the world.

What other familiar faces will be in the sequel?

After the announcement that Jordan Fisher was joining the cast as John Ambrose, many of you probably thought, "Wow, this sequel could not get any better." Well, Netflix is here to prove you wrong because they just announced that 13 Reasons Why star Ross Butler will be joining the cast as Pete Kavinsky's BFF, Trevor Pike!

"[Ross'] real-life friendship with Noah brings a natural chemistry and great rapport to the set and we can’t wait for fans to see this friendship play out onscreen," said producer Matt Kaplan. I mean, remember that epic time that the two went to a Halloween party together?!

If you thought Lana and Noah's chemistry was electric, get ready to be blown away by Ross and Noah's. They already proved they're ready to take on this movie together in a hilarious BTS video captured by Lana.

Ugh, the things I would do to get on that movie set...

Has John Ambrose been recasted?

It's official! John Ambrose will be officially played by Jordan Fisher and the cast welcomed him with a sweet video announcement.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before writer Jenny Han was freaking out after the announcement, revealing that she could finally follow him back on Twitter.

Peter Kavinsky better watch out because this casting is absolutely perfect!

Who is coming back?

While fans are still freaking out over Noah and Lana's sweet get together at the 2019 Kids' Choice Awards, at the same time, some big names were also announced to return for the sequel.

Janel Parrish, Anna Cathcart, and John Corbett are all coming back as Margot, Kitty, and Dr. Covey, according to Deadline.

There's still no word on who will be stepping up to play John Ambrose, but with production starting, hopefully they'll be announcing who will play him soon.

Have they started filming?

Get ready for an influx of behind-the-scenes photos, because To All the Boys I've Loved Before 2 is about to start filming!

Noah recently got fans excited by tweeting "TATB2 here we come" from the Los Angeles International Airport, to which Lana responded, writing, "I can’t wait to see ya," which obviously got the Lana/Noah stans going. I mean, the thought of those two being reunited again is almost too much to handle.

Then, Netflix confirmed the news, posting the cute exchange on Instagram with the caption, "IT IS HAPPENING," which, honestly, was my exact reaction.

While we don't know the exact day filming will start, the fact that the actors are en route to set is a very good sign and means that the sequel is right around the corner. Unfortunately, we STILL don't know who is playing John Ambrose! Someone asked Noah on Twitter and he revealed he has no idea! Talk about leaving things to the last minute.

Of course, now that production is starting, it's only a matter of time until all our of John-related queries are revealed.

Luke Benward talks about possibly being in the sequel.

Dumplin' star Luke Benward is BFFs with Noah Centineo, so does that mean he'll have a role in the sequel? He's been retweeting messages and replying on posts from fans that are hoping he'll be playing John Ambrose, but now he's setting the record straight.

"Honestly, I'm just messing around. There's nothing to it right now. I just like playing with people. People were getting excited about it, I thought might as well instigate a little bit," he told Entertainment Tonight. "Yeah, I'm an antagonizer. I have been since I've been a little kid, so sometimes I can't resist."

Despite being one of the names currently tossed around for the role, Luke revealed that he also doesn't even remember John Ambrose from the movie.

"Yeah, absolutely. I'll be honest, I don't really remember John Ambrose. I'll probably have to watch the movie again but like I said, I'd love to work with my boy. We'll have to see how it shakes down, but I'm not opposed to it," he said.

Anna Cathcart has some ideas for Kitty in the sequel.

Anna Catchart pretty much had the same reaction that I had when heard there would be a second TATBILB. "I was screaming when I found out the news, it still hasn’t sunk in," she told Teen Vogue.

As far as her character Kitty goes, Anna hopes her storyline is similar to that in the book, where Kitty starts meddling in her father's love life to set him up on a date with their neighbor. "I think it would be so cute that she’s super into her dad’s love life," Anna said.
"She’s trying to make him happy, she’s trying to get the family back together because she doesn’t really remember her mom as much as the other sisters do."

Anna has some other ideas for the movie too, and this one includes a furry friend. "Something I really really want to happen is that Kitty gets a dog," she said. "Because Kitty gets a dog in the book, so this needs to happen people. Seriously. My biggest wish, she needs Jamie Fox-Pickle, that’s the name of her dog in the book and that’s pretty adorable."

Anyone else want to sign my petition, Get Kitty Covey a Dog in the To All the Boys Sequel? I'm currently raising awareness.

One possible contender for Jamie Fox-Pickle could be Lana's new pal, Emma, whom she adopted recently. "Oh god, I love Lana’s dog," Anna said. "I was freaking out, I texted her right away, losing my mind, and was like ‘No. Way. I need to meet her right now.'" Honestly, same.

There's one scene Lana Condor wants from the book.

Lana is super excited to get started on P.S. I Still Love You and she's already throwing out some ideas of what she would like to see for Lara Jean. There's one scene that she's hoping makes the move from book to movie.

"I love when Lara Jean and John Ambrose go to the [nursing] home. I love the snow... that moment when John Ambrose and her are in the snow playing," she told Entertainment Tonight. "When I read that, it was romantic to me. Every little girl thinks about a kiss in the snow with someone that they might like. For me, I would love [it] more than anything ‘cause it’s romantic and cute!"

Peter Kavinsky better look out, cause it seems like John Ambrose will be some big competition.

Peter May Get Dumped.

Yup, you read that right. The beautiful, charismatic, Peter Kavinsky may get dumped in the To All the Boys sequel. Noah mentioned wanted some competition in number two, but this may be too much! Lana Condor dished on the possible drama to Elle.

"There's going to be a major new love interest," she said. "The first one was with Josh and Peter, but in the second movie it's going to be a major new character that’s going to challenge Peter quite a bit and fight over me, which is not a bad thing."

Of course, someone has to dump Peter, and Lana is a little nervous about being the one to do it, you know, considering Noah's hundreds of thousands of adoring fans and the possibility of some sort of backlash from them. "I actually have that fear," Lana said. "I’m scared."

Lana doesn't even know who the new guy may be. "We're working really hard to find someone that's perfect and just as charismatic as Peter, which is hard to do."

Get ready Internet, I'm guessing we are going to get a new boyfriend very soon.

Noah has some big ideas for the sequel.

Yes, the To All the Boys Sequel is technically written, thanks to author Jenny Han's genius work P.S. I Still Love You, but the verdict is still out as to whether or not the second movie will follow the second book closely or attempt to tell a different story.

Regardless, Noah has a few of his own ideas for the second movie, and they might remind you of another, more magical love story.

When it comes to his character, Peter, Noah isn't afraid of a little competition. "I want people to get behind John [Ambrose McClaren], I want people to get behind Josh [Sanderson], I want people to get behind all the characters," he told Entertainment Weekly. "I would like to see fans bicker about it and have it be like the whole Edward Cullen-Jacob thing [from Twilight]. I love that."

A Twilight-esque love triangle? I am so into it. Who's making Team Peter shirts because you can put me down for one!

On top of that possible romantic plot line, Noah also hopes that Peter grows as a person in the TALBILB sequel. "I think Peter could be more vulnerable and jealous," he said. "He’s not a super evolved person, so there’s always more to explore and develop."

Lana Condor has similar hopes for her character, Lara Jean. She told EW that she wants Lara Jean to up her confidence in the sequel. "It’s in her nature to not be confrontational, so when people are mean to her or things happen to her that aren’t necessarily great, I think sometimes she’s just like 'Okay well I guess that’s life,'" she said. "What would be exciting for me is for her to stand up for herself a little bit more."

Well, nothing makes you confident like having three hot guys fight over you, am I right?

Noah Centineo is very excited for one specific reason.

Now that the To All the Boys I've Loved Before sequel is officially happening, we no longer have to dream about the Lana Condor/Noah Centineo reunion we've been waiting for. They'll be back to filming in no time and Noah is just as excited about it as we are.

He explained to People that there are multiple reasons why he wants to do the sequel. "One, just because it’s such a great story and it needs to be finished," he said. "The story has to be told. And two, because I miss Lana. I miss the f*ck out of Lana and Israel [Broussard], Trezzo [Mahoro] and everyone. I can’t wait to see everybody and hang out again. That was such a treasure, being in Vancouver with them."

Yes! We can't wait to be bombarded with Instagram stories and vids of the cast all hanging out together again!

Is P.S. I Still Love You officially happening?

P.S. I Still Love You is officially happening! Deadline has reported that the To All the Boys I've Loved Before sequel will be the first film that Netflix/Paramount will make together in their new deal.

Bob Bakish said that the sequel "might have a sexier title over time," but we don't doubt it will still follow the same plot as the original novel.

Unlike the previous film, Paramount and Netflix will be working together to create the film (Paramount owns Viacom who owns Awesomeness Films, the original producers of the film).

Writer Jenny Han previously opened up about how much the cast would love to reunite for a sequel.

"The whole cast would love to do it. I think we all would love for that to happen," she said at Vulture Festival, according to Deadline. "Everyone has said that."

TATBILB's director, Susan Johnson told Entertainment Tonight that the whole team is "attached contractually if [they] want to do the movie again, which is super exciting." She also explained that usually Netflix likes to wait a month to see how the movie does before they decide whether or not to do a sequel. "Netflix said that their general timeframe is 28 days; they watch how well the movie does over the period of a month and once that’s over, they can make a decision about a sequel." Considering the fact that the movie has blown up since its release, we can probably see a sequel in our future. "I love the fans being vocal about it, the more, the better."

Even better, Jenny Han, who wrote the book the movie is based on, is in for a sequel. "I would love it," she told ET. "If people want more, then I want to be able to give them more."

What has Noah Centineo said about it?

Noah Centineo and the rest of the cast really want to make this movie happen and he was pretty open about it when he talked to Seventeen about the possibility of a sequel.

"Yeah! F*ck yeah! I would love to. That would be such a gift. I would absolutely love to," he told Seventeen. "That would be a gift to be able to go back to Vancouver and hang out with Lana, Israel, and Trezzo, and everyone. That would be a gift."

As for where we would see Peter Kavinsky, he reassured fans of the book series that it'll likely be the same.

"Well, you know, it’s already written, so I don’t really have a say in it."

Here's hoping they make it happen!

The Cast May Not Have Time

Before you freak out, remember that the To All the Boys cast and crew want a sequel just as much as the rest of us and they think it will happen. "I’ve heard stuff, but I think there’s a very high chance we’ll get a sequel," Lana Condor told Entertainment Tonight. But, if it's really going to come to fruition, everyone needs to get it together and book Noah and Lana because their schedules are getting busy!

Noah just got another movie, on top of Charlie's Angels, which he's currently shooting. And Lana's new show Deadly Class is coming out in January. If things go well and the show gets renewed, she's going to be busy for awhile. "It comes down to availability," she explained. "And I hope they lock us in soon."

Netflix! What are you waiting for? Give the people what they want and lock these actors down already!

There's a Petition for a Sequel

While there hasn't been any word on whether there will be a sequel for our new favorite film, fans are taking matters into their own hands to try and make it happen. Rebecca G. created a petition asking Netflix to order a sequel and over 8,000 people have signed it so far.

While the petition praises the film for being important for Asian-American representation in media, Rebecca is also asking them to recast Israel Broussard as Josh after his controversial tweet resurfaced. While Broussard has since apologized for the tweets, Rebecca writes, "The "To All the Boys I've Loved Before" sequels don't need Broussard as Josh — but we need more Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky."

Fans Want The Rock to Make an Appearance

There's no doubt that Netflix will try to make P.S. I Still Love You even bigger than To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and fans already have some ideas they hope to see put in place.

Lana Condor tweeted out to The Rock, calling him fitness goals as she worked out.

The Rock replied back to her, giving her some encouragement during her workout. Lana then replied with the most relatable Moana reference ever.

Fans were quick to see the adorable exchange between them and even said that this could be a way to get The Rock into the sequel.

They had different ideas for who he could play, including Peter's dad.

Come on, Netflix. Please make this happen.

What would the sequel be about?

Well, in case you missed it, there was a special mid-credits scene that might have hinted as to what we can expect. In it, John Ambrose McClaren (YES, MODEL UN GUY) shows up at Lara Jean's door with flowers and the love letter that she wrote to him. Kitty is the one who answers the door and she lets Lara Jean know that there's somewhere there to see her. It's likely that the movie will start from John's surprise return and how it'll affect her relationship with Peter.

The script for the movie isn't written yet, but Susan has some ideas about what the movie will dive into. It seems like John Ambrose McClaren's arrival may make things between Lara Jean and Peter pretty complicated.

"Relationships are hard to navigate and they’ll find themselves in one," said Susan. "And they’ll discover what the next person might bring in John Ambrose McClaren...The next shiny face comes in and you’re like, Oh shoot, this guy’s really nice too. What do I do?."

On top of that, Josh Sanderson will probably play a larger role in the sequel. Originally, To All the Boys dove into the love triangle between Lara Jean, Peter, and Josh more, but they cut a lot of those scenes out. "It wasn’t avoided but it was certainly cut down in post," she said. "We had shot a little bit more than was there and we shot a resolution to that storyline, but at the end of the day, if we wanted to keep the momentum going for the chemistry that was taking over the film between Peter and Lara Jean, other things had to get cut down a little bit."

So, Susan has plans for Josh in the next movie, though he's not really in the second book too much. This is especially important to her because she loves Israel Broussard, the actor who plays Josh, apparently despite his homophobic and racist tweets that recently resurfaced.

Does the cast want a sequel?

Lana Condor and Noah Centineo might be this movie's biggest fans and we honestly can't blame them. According to Susan Johnson, the cast is already on board for a sequel, if it happens.

"We were having dinner, Lana, Israel and I, and I was like, 'What do we think? Are we going to do the next one? Is it going to happen?,'" she told Metro. "They responded, 'Yes! Make it happen. Before we get too old. We don’t want to be 30 doing these roles.' Everybody involved is excited about it. We would love to keep the band together, so lets cross our fingers."

She also revealed that if the sequels do get picked up, it's likely they will film it back-to-back to make sure they are done in time.

"We thought about it while we were casting the movie. And we knew we would only get a few more years of teenage years out of these guys anyway. So we sort of were prepared for it."

Lana and Noah seem to be all for it, even spearheading the movement for a possible sequel with a certain scene from the first movie.

Is there anything I can do until the sequel comes out?

Luckily for us, Jenny Han wrote two more books in the series that follows our favorite couple as they face new challenges together.
