*Major spoilers for To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You below!*
How does the cast feel about To All the Boys 3?
While we're all waiting to see what happens next to Peter and Lara Jean, Lana Condor just revealed some details about the final book in the To All the Boys series and it's gonna put you deep in the feels.
"It's only been two and a half years in this whole franchise, but you definitely feel like you're watching them grow up. In this movie, she's choosing her future. She's deciding for herself. Of course she's still madly in love, and also in love with love, but it's watching someone make a choice for herself for the future," she told Entertainment Weekly. "I'm so proud of her for being decisive, because she's never been decisive. In the past two movies that's her thing, she just doesn't know. I think to see her be decisive and know what she wants is really refreshing, and I really enjoyed that aspect of her glow-up."
So what does this mean for our favorite couple? Guess we're going to have to wait until the film is finally released on February 12 to find out for ourselves.
Is there a trailer for To All the Boys 3?
Yep, the first trailer was dropped on January 13 and it shows our favorite couple as they try to figure out their future post-high school as the possibly head off on their separate ways. Will Peter K and Lara Jean survive a possible long distance relationship? Or will it cause the end of their relationship?
Are there any photos?
Along with the trailer, Netflix also gave us some sneak peek photos of all our favorite couples that will make you wish you can be there with them for some of these moments.
When will To All the Boys 3 be released?
Along with the trailer, Netflix officially revealed that the movie will be coming out in February 12, 2021.
Janel Parrish, who plays Margot, previously hinted that the film was coming in early 2021.
"We'll be happy to give people content with To All the Boys 3. I believe it's going to come out in the beginning of the year. I think that's the plan, but yeah, I'm really excited for people to see that. It's a wonderful closing of the chapter for Lara Jean. Her graduation is coming up and it's another big life moment for her. Another transition in her chapter," she told Entertainment Tonight.
"What I love about this film though, for me selfishly, is that there's lots of sister time. I got to hang out so much with Lana [Condor] and Anna [Cathcart, who plays Kitty,] and we really have become real-life sisters. We are so close. We got to go to Korea for two weeks to film and that was incredible. Being there with them and exploring Korea and the culture and being able to eat the food and filming there, it was wonderful. I can't wait for people to see that you get a lot of the Covey sisters coming their way for movie three."
How will To All the Boys 3 be different from the other movies?
While we're all
impatiently waiting for the third film to come out, Lana Condor is already giving us some major clues as to what to expect. If you weren't excited enough, Lana revealed that the upcoming film is her favorite in the series.
"We ended on a really, really good note," she told Entertainment Tonight. "I'm forever grateful for the character and I'm really excited for people to see the third movie because I think the third one is my favorite movie out of the three. I think we've watched Lara Jean and myself grow up through these movies and I'm proud of the way that we end with her. I'm hopeful for her future. I see a bright future for her, and I know that she's gonna go off and occupy her space and do the things that she loves. Particularly in the third movie you see a lot of personal growth from Lara Jean."
She also noted that while fans might still be hoping for another showdown between Peter K. and John Ambrose as they try to win Lara Jean's heart, the third movie is about her more than anything else.
"Our movies are romantic comedies, so they are a lot about the guys, but I do believe that the third movie is truly about Lara Jean," she said. "It's not about, oh, is she gonna pick a guy and all the love triangles all these things, which are great. But I think we also need to focus on who she is as a young woman and what she's gonna do with her future. She's going off to college and everything, so it does feel like a proper ending."
Did the cast have to reshoot anything?
Noah Centineo, Lana Condor, and Madeleine Arthur were spotted together in Vancouver, according to Just Jared. While many fans were wondering why the three co-stars were back together in Canada, Noah revealed that they were doing reshoots on the third and final movie.
"I have not been on this set in about a year. I hope I remember how to act," Noah said in a video.
Meanwhile, both Lana and Noah posted videos of them getting their hair done on set, confirming that they're both back filming.
Noah posted another photo on his Instagram story with the word "fin", likely hinting that re-shoots are already over.
Hopefully, this means we'll be getting the new movie in early 2021.
How can I get sneak peek into To All the Boys 3?
Lana Condor and Noah Centineo virtually reunited for a good cause and To All the Boys fans got a special treat for the event. Lana and Noah announced on Instagram back on June 15 that they were hosting a live table read on YouTube with Favored Nations. Donations from the event will go to various organizations including Black Lives Matter, Color for Change, and The Bail Project.
"LET’S JOIN THE FIGHT. I'm so excited to be partnering with @favorednations in the fight against racial injustice and inequality in our country. To raise money for organizations leading these efforts, Noah and I will be doing a live table read event, along with important messages from activists and artists from the Black community. Together, let's learn more about systemic racism and how we can create change. ❤️"
The table read included scenes from the first two movies and the upcoming third film.
They were also joined by Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors and other special guests throughout the night to highlight Black activist and voices.
Fans can check out Favored Nations' website for more information on how to donate and check out the special live stream below.
The special table-read features Lara Jean and Peter K. back in their favorite diner and things get very intense (starts at the 53 minute mark):
Did production have to shut down?
Luckily, the movie already finished filming before the coronavirus shut down, but production almost paused on the movie for a completely different reason.
Lana Condor revealed on her Instagram stories that production let her go to NYC for the day to go to 2019 Met Gala. The catch? She had to be back in 24 hours!
"I worked everyday, so for a hot second I thought I wasn’t going to be able to attend the gala. I was heartbroken. Then, like a damn fairy godmother, production agreed to halt production for one day so I could go," she wrote on her Instagram story. "It was literally [a] miracle, and I am so grateful for everyone that helped make that happen."
"The catch was I had to be back in time for work the next day (Tuesday). That meant I flew from Vancouver to NYC, did the Met, did the after parties, got right on a plane back to Vancouver in the early morning (without sleeping & still having my glam on) and speed to work just to make it on time," she continued. "If I didn’t make it on time, I’d cost the production a ton of money. The saving grace was the time difference."
She ended up getting there five minutes early and had to film a rain scene where she was drenched for five hours. Seems like it was totally worth it though!
Is a third movie actually happening?
Get ready, To All the Boys fans! Netflix officially confirmed that a third movie is coming out and will follow the third and final book in the trilogy. To All the Boys: Always and Forever, Lara Jean will take place right after Lara Jean and Peter reconnect and they start to figure out their future together with college on the horizon.
Has the cast started filming the movie yet?
Unlike other series which have filmed movies one at a time, the cast actually got to film the final two To All the Boys movies back to back, which means that production has already wrapped. The cast has already said goodbye to their characters back in September, although, they'll still be having cute moments together as they promote the last film.
Lana Condor posted a cute photo featuring a little note saying goodbye to Lara Jean.
Did the cast be go anywhere new for the third film?
The Covey sisters got the chance to fly out to Korea to shoot some scenes that are in the last novel, which includes LJ visiting family over there.
The rest of the cast also got the chance to film some scenes in NYC, probably for a special school trip that the characters will go on during the third film.
