It's a boy! Eva Longoria gives birth to her 1st child at 43

Eva Longoria is officially a mamasita!

The Desperate Housewives alum, 43, welcomed her first child, a boy, with husband José “Pepe” Bastón, 50, on Tuesday. She shared a photo of baby Santiago Enrique Bastón with Hola! magazine, saying, “We are so grateful for this beautiful blessing.” The Mexican businessman — he runs Televisa, the largest media company in Latin America — has three children from from a previous marriage.

The actress and producer took her fans along with her as she documented her pregnancy on social media. Just the other day, with the FIFA World Cup underway, she posted a photo of a mini Mexico jersey Bastón bought for their little one. “Baby is ready for next game,” wrote Eva, letting fans know that baby’s arrival arrival was imminent.

Longoria, who is politically active, also promised she’ll be raising a feminist. “I’m so excited that I’m having a boy because I think the world needs more good men,” she wrote in March on International Women’s Day. “This boy, my son, will be surrounded by very strong, educated, powerful women, and I think it’s important that he sees those types of role models in his life so he knows how to support it, how to applaud it, and how to honor it.”

Longoria began dating Bastón after two failed marriages — and they became engaged in Dubai in December 2015. (“I never thought I would get married again, she said in 2017. “It’s him, he makes it all worth it.”) Their star-studded wedding took place in Mexico in May 2016. She has long been the subject of pregnancy rumors, but announced in December that she was four months pregnant. She recently had a pajama party-themed baby shower.

Now primarily based in Mexico City, Longoria sold her L.A. home of 10 years in March. That was an emotional moment during her pregnancy — and so was losing her 15-year-old dog, Jinxy, on June 15.

But her baby has arrived — and she’s ready for it. While promoting Overboard in May, she said on Extra, “My most special project is in my belly right now. So that’s going to be a whole new chapter.” And it starts now!
