Boston College will be without star running back AJ Dillon against No. 23 North Carolina State.

Sources told Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel that Dillon, who is third in the country with 652 rushing yards, did not make the trip with the team to Raleigh for Saturday’s game against the Wolfpack.

Dillon, a sophomore, injured his left ankle during last week’s win over Temple. Before exiting the game in the third quarter, Dillon rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns. In his absence, Ben Glines received the bulk of the carries and finished the afternoon with 120 yards and a score on 23 carries.

BC coach Steve Addazio said Wednesday that Dillon would be a gametime decision for Saturday, but Dillon ended up not making the trip.

Saturday’s game kicks off at 12:30 p.m.
