Body of missing Tennessee woman Jasmine Pace found, boyfriend charged with murder

The search for a missing Tennessee woman reached a heart-wrenching conclusion Thursday when her body was found in Chattanooga.

Jasmine Pace, 22, was last heard from in the early morning hours of Nov. 23. Her boyfriend, Jason Chen, has been charged with her murder.

Pace’s family said her body was found near the 1000 block of Suck Creek Road in north Chattanooga, according to local NBC affiliate WRBC.

Police said human remains had been found in that location but could not confirm they belonged to Pace, local ABC affiliate WTVC reported.

Pace was last seen on Nov. 22. Around 2:15 a.m. on Nov. 23, she sent her mom her location. At the time, she was at Chen’s apartment in Chattanooga’s Northshore neighborhood. The neighborhood is about two miles south of where her body was found.

Family members reported Pace missing on Nov. 26 after not hearing from her. When police searched Chen’s apartment, they found blood stains in multiple rooms and broken glass. They also found cleaning supplies.

Surveillance video showed Chen buying cleaning supplies at a Walgreens on Nov. 23, police said.

Cops said that, days after the killing, Chen drove Pace’s car to his family home in Nolensville, about two hours northwest of Chattanooga. He was arrested at that home on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, police announced that Chen had been charged with first-degree murder.
