It only took him 365 plate appearances, but Vladimir Guerrero Jr. finally got a chance to fully show off his wheels.

With two on in the seventh inning, and with the Toronto Blue Jays trailing the New York Yankees by one, the powerhouse third basemen slashed a base hit the other way for another first-ever moment.

That’s right. Guerrero Jr. put on the after-burners, wheeling all the way to third for the first triple of his MLB career.

Bo Bichette and Cavan Biggio scored on the play, putting the Blue Jays ahead of New York 5-4 — a lead they maintained for the victory.

While nobody is expecting Guerrero Jr. to be a triples machine, it certainly is positive to see him being aggressive on the basepaths.

Blue Jays fans have received an encouraging glimpse of what their future may look like. After snapping the Yankees’ nine-game winning streak on Friday, the ball club has now knocked off the Bronx Bombers in consecutive outings.
